Terms of Service

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Skillynx collects, uses, shares, stores, and protects information when you use our mobile app, website, marketplace, payment workflows, chat, contracts, support channels, and related services.

Skillynx is a local services marketplace for clients and independent freelancers. Because marketplace transactions involve trust and safety, we may process account, listing, payment, communication, dispute, and device information to operate and protect the platform.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use Skillynx, we may collect:

  • Account information: name, email address, authentication identifiers, profile details, profile photo, role, preferences, and account status.
  • Marketplace information: job posts, skill listings, applications, categories, service areas, budgets, prices, availability, deliverables, addresses or location details you choose to provide, and reviews.
  • Communications: in-app chat messages, support requests, dispute notes, admin emails, notification records, and related metadata.
  • Payment and contract information: payment records, escrow records, payout requests, withdrawal details, payment status, contract scope, signatures, dispute status, refunds, fees, and transaction identifiers.
  • Device and usage information: log data, browser or device type, approximate location from device/network signals, app events, pages viewed, feature usage, errors, and security signals.
  • Safety and verification information: moderation decisions, bans, account deletion records, fraud indicators, identity or payout checks requested by payment providers, and evidence submitted for disputes.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

  • Create and manage accounts.
  • Display profiles, listings, jobs, applications, reviews, and marketplace search results.
  • Enable chat, notifications, contracts, payment workflows, escrow-style records, withdrawals, and support.
  • Review disputes, prevent fraud, enforce policies, protect users, and maintain platform integrity.
  • Process payments, refunds, fees, payout requests, chargebacks, and tax or compliance records.
  • Improve app performance, reliability, usability, safety, and customer support.
  • Comply with law, legal process, payment network rules, audit obligations, and regulator requests.

4. Sharing information

We may share information with:

  • Other users: profile, listing, job, application, contract, review, chat, and transaction details needed for marketplace interactions.
  • Service providers: hosting, database, analytics, email, notifications, customer support, security, and infrastructure vendors.
  • Payment processors: payment, payout, fraud, identity, refund, chargeback, and compliance providers such as Stripe.
  • Legal and safety recipients: law enforcement, regulators, courts, payment networks, or affected parties when required or appropriate for safety, fraud, disputes, or legal compliance.
  • Business transfers: successors or advisors in a merger, financing, restructuring, acquisition, sale, or similar transaction.

We do not sell personal information for money. We do not allow third parties to use marketplace data for their own unrelated marketing without permission.

5. Payments and third-party services

Payment processing may be handled by third-party providers. Skillynx may receive payment status, transaction IDs, payment method metadata, fraud signals, and payout status, but we do not intend to store full card numbers. Payment providers process information under their own terms and privacy notices.

6. Location and addresses

Skillynx may use location-related information to help users find local services, understand service areas, determine whether work is remote or in person, and coordinate jobs. Users should only share precise addresses when needed for a legitimate job or contract.

7. Retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide Skillynx, comply with legal and payment obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, enforce agreements, maintain audit logs, and protect users. Some records, including payment, contract, dispute, fraud, payout, tax, and safety records, may be retained after account closure where permitted or required.

8. Account deletion and user choices

You may request account deletion, correction, access, or support by contacting support@skillynx.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Deleting an account may not immediately delete transaction, payment, dispute, security, legal, or backup records that we must retain.

You can also choose what information you put in profiles, listings, jobs, applications, and chat. Do not share sensitive information unless it is necessary for a service arrangement.

9. Security

We use technical, administrative, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including access controls, authentication, database security, and limited admin tooling. No system is perfectly secure, and users are responsible for protecting their passwords, devices, and account access.

10. Children

Skillynx is not intended for children under 13, and users must be old enough to enter legally binding agreements in their location or have proper consent where required. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.

11. International users

Information may be processed in Canada, the United States, or other countries where Skillynx or its service providers operate. Data protection laws may differ from those in your location.

12. Changes and contact

We may update this Privacy Policy as Skillynx evolves or legal requirements change. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above or providing notice where appropriate.
